Scholarship Funding
At the staff function on 18 March 2010 to mark Virginia Simmons’ resignation as CEO of Chisholm Institute and to recognise her contribution to Chisholm and to the TAFE network, she was presented with a scholarship to be called the Virginia Simmons’ Perpetual Scholarship.
One (1) scholarship of $1,500 per annum will be available to a student commencing or continuing studies in 2012.
Eligibility
This award will be available to students on all campuses of Chisholm Institute undertaking studies in any Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma course.
Applications made on the Virginia Simmons’ Perpetual Scholarship Application Form available below or from the Executive Officer, ccef@chisholm.edu.au will be accepted from existing or prospective students who meet one of the following requirements:
Individual or family adversity
Excessive relocation or changes of school
Dislocation as a refugee
Economic barriers to further study
and are:
Existing or prospective students undertaking Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses at Chisholm Institute
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, hold a permanent humanitarian visa or with the exception of degrees, be eligible for a government subsidised place
Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply.
NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
