Scholarship Funding
This scholarship is in memory of Sue Polgar who passed away on Tuesday, 16 March, 2010. Sue's whole professional life was devoted to education, and most specifically to TAFE. She was strongly committed to assisting disadvantaged students and worked at Chisholm Institute for the last seven years, making a significant contribution to international education.
One scholarship of $2,000 per annum is available to a newly arrived migrant undertaking studies at Chisholm Institute.
Eligibility
Applications made on the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation Sue Polgar Memorial Scholarship Application Form will be accepted from newly arrived migrants who meet one of the following requirements:
Individual or family adversity
Economic barriers to further study
Excessive relocation or changes of school
Dislocation as a refugee
and are:
A newly arrived migrant (approximately 12 months)
Undertaking studies at Chisholm Institute
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, hold a permanent humanitarian visa or with the exception of degrees, be eligible for a government subsidised place.
Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply.
NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
