Background
After a presentation about the work that the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation is doing with the community, the Rotary Club of Brighton North indicated that the Club would fund a scholarship for an Indigenous person wishing to undertake vocational studies
Scholarship Funding
One (1) scholarship of $1,000 will be made available to a member of the Indigenous community who is seeking vocational training to acquire employment skills.
Funding is intended for –
tuition fees
materials fees
equipment
other assistance where applicable
Eligibility
Applications made on the Rotary Club of Brighton North Scholarship Application Form available below or from the Foundation Executive Officer, ccef@chisholm.edu.au will be accepted from any person who meets at least one of the following eligibility requirements:
Economic barriers to further study
Individual or family adversity
Excessive relocation or changes of school
Economic barriers to further study
and is:
From either Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, with papers and/or supporting documentation indicating acceptance by the local Indigenous community as to their Aboriginality status.
Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply.
NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
