Background
The management and staff of the Peninsula Community Legal Centre, recognising the importance of vocational education to create employment opportunities, has provided funding for a scholarship to assist a student undertaking studies in 2012.
Scholarship Funding
One scholarship of $1,000 is available to an eligible student undertaking studies at Chisholm Institute. The scholarship will commence in the 2012 academic year.
Eligibility
Applications made on the Peninsula Community Legal Centre Management & Staff Scholarship Application Form, available from the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation website at www.CarolineChisholm.org.au, or the Executive Officer of the Foundation, ccef@chisholm.edu.au will be accepted from existing or prospective students are facing one or more of the following barriers to further study:
Individual or family adversity
Excessive relocation or changes of school
Relocation as a refugee or newly arrived in Australia
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background
Economic barriers to further study
Applicants must be:
Commencing or continuing Community Services or Community Development studies at Chisholm Institute, Frankston campus
A resident of the Cities of Casey, Cardinia, Frankston, Glen Eira, Kingston or Mornington Peninsula Shire
An Australian citizen, permanent resident, hold a permanent humanitarian visa or with the exception of degrees, be eligible for a government subsidised place
Low income earners, including holders of pension or health care cards are encouraged to apply.
NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form barriers to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
