Scholarship Funding
The Youth & New Generations Committee of the Rotary Club of Sorrento has offered to fund three (3) scholarships for full apprenticeship fees over three years totalling approximately $2,000 per annum. They requested that the scholarship be named to honour Leon Riley.
As one of these scholarships was awarded in 2011, two scholarships will be available to eligible apprentices commencing apprenticeship courses at Chisholm Institute in 2012.
Eligibility
Applications made on the Leon Riley Scholarship Application Form, available below or from the Executive Officer at ccef@chisholm.edu.au will be accepted from apprenticeship students who meet one or more of the following criteria:
Individual or family adversity
Excessive relocation or changes of school
Relocation as a refugee
Economic barriers to further study
and are:
A resident of Mornington Peninsula or surrounding area
Preferably enrolled at the Rosebud campus of Chisholm Institute
Males commencing their apprenticeship in the building, plumbing or carpentry trades
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, hold a permanent humanitarian visa or with the exception of degrees, be eligible for a government subsidised place.
Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply.
NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
