The City of Greater Dandenong has advised that it is intends to donate $2,500 annually to the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation to fund this scholarship.*  The scholarship will be available to a student from a disadvantaged background who without financial assistance, may be required to abandon further studies. 

Scholarship Funding

One (1) scholarship of $2,500 is available to assist with –

 course fees
 materials and equipment
 travel
 accommodation

Eligibility

This scholarship will be available to a student who resides within the City of Greater Dandenong or who is studying at a Chisholm campus within the Greater Dandenong boundaries.

Applicants may be undertaking studies in any Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma course in Business, Commerce or Community Services commencing or continuing studies in 2012.

Applications made on the City of Greater Dandenong Scholarship Application Form, available from the link below or from the Executive Officer at ccef@chisholm.edu.au, will be accepted from existing or prospective students who meet a number of the following requirements:

 Individual or family adversity
 Excessive relocation or changes of school
 Dislocation as a refugee
 Economic barriers to further study
 Existing or prospective students undertaking Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses in Business, Commerce, Community Services
 Sound personal qualities such as academic performance, interpersonal skills, motivation and community spirit

Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a permanent humanitarian visa

Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply

NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
