Background

Donations from network members at the Career Network Christmas Lunch Meeting contribute to a scholarship for a secondary school student experiencing financial difficulty in accessing further studies. The School and Apprenticeships Liaison Department at Chisholm Institute contribute $250.00 providing the basis of the scholarship.

The scholarship will be available to a exiting Year 12 secondary school student chosen by each Careers Group who will be undertaking any vocational studies course at TAFE. Network members will be invited to nominate a student who meets the eligibility criteria outlined in the Guidelines.


Scholarship Funding

One (1) scholarship will be available to a student nominated by each Career Group who is commencing studies in 2012 .

Eligibility

This scholarship will be available to an exiting Year 12 student undertaking vocational studies in any course.

Applications made on the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation DVCEA Career Network Scholarship Application Form, available via email from Tania Pearce, Student Recruitment and School Liaison Officer at Chisholm Institute, (tania.pearce@chisholm.edu.au) will be accepted from students who meet one or more of the following requirements:

 Individual or family adversity
 Relocation as a refugee
 Economic barriers to further study
 Existing or prospective students attending a vocational course

Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, hold a permanent humanitarian visa, or with the exception of degrees, be eligible for a Government subsidised place

Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply

NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.
