Berwick TEC Bursary 
 

 

Two (2) Bursaries of $1,000 for one year are available for eligible students for the 2010 academic year.

 

Eligibility

Nominations made on the Berwick TEC Bursary Nomination Form, available on the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation website at www.CarolineChisholm.org.au will be accepted on behalf of any student consenting to be nominated who meets the following basic requirements:

 Current Berwick TEC student
 Individual or family adversity
 Excessive relocation or changes of school
 Relocation as a refugee
 Economic barriers to further study

Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a permanent humanitarian visa

Holders of a Low Income Card are encouraged to apply.

NOTE: It is strongly advised that applicants indicate clearly on the Application Form any disadvantages to further study, which may include current or lifetime experiences.

Selection Process


Bursaries awarded will be consistent with the Grant Disbursement Principles of the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation and Berwick TEC Bursary Guidelines. 

Recommendations will be sought from Directors through their Managers and Program Coordinators in collaboration with local Schools, where appropriate, for suitable Bursary recipients who comply with the Foundation’s Grant Disbursement Principles and Bursary Guidelines.  The successful students will commence training at the Berwick TEC undertaking vocational courses.

Recommendations will be made to the Foundation Trustees who will endorse the nominations.  Successful recipients will be invited to Chisholm Institute for enrolment and induction into their chosen field of study.

 

TEC Bursary conditions


Bursary recipients throughout the conduct of their Bursary must demonstrate:

  • Compliance with the Chisholm Institute Student Code of Conduct
  • Adequate academic progress
  • Open channels of communication with a Foundation Ambassador

Failure to do so could result in the non-continuation of the Bursary.

 

Distribution of Funds

 

On confirmartion of the Bursary recipients, arrangements will be made to pay fees from the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation funds.  After tuition and matrials fees have been paid, any remaining funds will be available for books or other required course requirements.

Any remaining funds may be disbursed to the bursary holder on a monthly basis as arranged with the Foundation Executive Officer.
