Becoming a Donor

The best gift you can give a person is the gift of education. Education changes lives for the better and gives people new hope and builds a stronger community. We all benefit.

There are many ways to give to the Foundation. The Foundation receives no government support and all monies go towards supporting students in hardship.

You can give by:

Individual Sponsor

Our individual sponsors give for many reasons. Often it is in memory of a loved one who valued education, was a teacher or had a specialist trade. The scholarship is named in their honour as a personal reminder of their contribution – an everlasting and ever giving gift.

Corporate Sponsor

Many of our corporate sponsors have a strong belief in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). They know that a strong vocational skill set are fundamental to being able to deliver and increase productivity in the workplace.

Each scholarship has a set of guidelines that reflect the desires of the donor. A donor might choose for any student to have equal access to the scholarship so the guidelines are broad and have no constraints or a donor might choose to be more specific and define a trade area or a location that a student must come from.

Many corporate donors sponsor many students, as there is no limit to the amount of support that is needed.

Community groups

The Rotary Club of Berwick was the first community group to support the Foundation with the club sponsoring three students. Other Rotary Clubs have now joined as they personally see the benefits of supporting young students in their region and providing them a helping hand. Many of the scholarships are ongoing with the scholarship holder having their whole course fee paid for. This ensures that the student can concentrate on their studies without the stress and worry of course fees or having to undertake outside work.

It is common for the scholarship holder to also meet and present to their local club at a dinner so that the club can personally meet the scholarship holder and see the value of their contribution in action.
